Since the death of his father and recently his brother, Pascal, 45, a dairy farmer in Val d'Illiez, has to run the family business alone, helped by his elderly mother Nelly. The heat of summer and the arrival of Solène, a volunteer from the Caritas-Montagnards association upset the hectic pace and family dynamics. Solène discovers the harshness of the protagonist's daily life, in contact with the land and animals, raising questions about our relationship with living beings.
