While the verdict on the Khmer Rouge is being prepared in Cambodia, Thorn, who had worked as a cameraman for the regime’s propaganda, sets off with his son Bunthean to the sites he once filmed. Bunthean studied in the capital city of Phnom Penh and bears the stigma of being the son of a member of the Khmer Rouge. He would like some answers from his father but is still bound by his loyalty to him. As Thorn wistfully films the rice plantations, his son tries to comprehend: “But Papa, what were you looking at, what did you film back then?”
