Robert Solyom is a well-known painter of Hungarian origin living in Paris. The film shows him primarily at work in his atelier, following step-by-step the creation of four large-format paintings. His creativity knows no boundaries, and he loves taking risks, obliterating, transforming, destroying, starting over. Often working feverishly, sometimes blocked, he always succeeds magnificently, thanks to his exceptionally inventive energy. He expresses himself with regard to his view of the world, his concept of art, and more extensively regarding the self-portrait—one of his favorite themes.
