Celebrated author Patricia Highsmith is enjoying her retirement in her hideaway in the Swiss Alps. But her idyll is shattered when Edward, an ambitious young literary agent, is sent by her persistent publisher to persuade her to write one last book. Patricia uses her famously dark imagination to scare Edward off, but an unexpected collaboration develops, blurring the lines between her invented world and reality.
