Born in Holland. He is known for his feature films such as CONTROL (2007), THE AMERICAN (2010), A MOST WANTED MAN (2014) and LIFE (2015). Originally a photographer, he also shaped the visual aesthetics of bands such as Depeche Mode and U2. His style combines strong acting performances with impressive images.
